Rio Grande do Sul

Santa Catarina

Florianópolis- s the capital city and second largest city of Santa Catarina state in the Southern region of Brazil . It is composed of one main island, the Island of Santa Catarina, and a continental portion and the surrounding small islands. It has a population of 421,203, according to the 2001 Brazilian census,  and is the 47th largest city in Brazil. The metropolitan area has an estimated population of 1,096,476, the 21st larges in the country. The island of Santa Catarina has varied terrain that includes farmland, large lagoons, hills and extensive beaches that are well known for surfing and other water sports. The local population shows strong European heritage, including links to heavy Italian and German colonization.

Blumenau - an inland city in Santa Catarina renowned for its strong German heritage. The city is well known for arts and crafts, chocolates and candies, clothing and restaurants. 

Paraná

Curitiba - The largest city in Paraná recognized as a model of urban development and planning in the region. Aside from having many cultural amenities, the city is a good jump off point for other attractions in the region such as the southern highlands and Foz de Iguaçu.

Foz de Iguaçu - One of the world's largest waterfalls by volume located on the border of Argentina and Brazil, where more than 1700 cubic meters per second fall over 80-meter ledges spanning the 1,200 meter wide Iguassu river.  Boat and walking tours are available.
